Autonet Mobile is Making its Debut

JuxionBox was giving a similar service to what now Autonet is promising to improve and
it calls what it is going to avail seamless connectivity to the car. According to the company behind Autonet, it is going to be a new-age media center for the car. Reports have said that it is going to come with radios inside for the 3G-backhaul connection. What that means is there is no need for a separate EV-DO or HSPDA card to plug in that are offered by other companies such as Verizon. The other advantage is it has a Wi-Fi radio that allows multi users and it is possible to connect all the portable devices such as PDAs, laptops, smart phones, gaming handhelds and more.

Autonet sells for $399 and it does not depend on other sources to avail an Internet connection, it charges $49 a month for the service and the product plugs into a car cigarette lighter for power. The company is targeting car rental agencies and Avis is among the first ones that are planning to use it and will charge $11 a day for the service. Other advantages cited were it works 100% in most metropolitan roads and it comes down to 95% on other secondary roads, and what will give it an edge is the Internet connection where anyone, especially kids could watch movies on the road without having their CDs with them.
