World Powerful Women

Their number worldwide runs up to 48 and they are being praised for the mopup job they had done at ailing companies. Two names to mention are Patricia Rucco at Lucent Technologies and Anne Mulch at Xerox. Both had brought back companies that were at the brink of bankruptcy. A few of them had gotten the boot for wrong doing and one of them is Carla Cico of Brasil Telecom who was stripped of her post for simply hiring a company to spy on a competitor. Carly Florin of Hewlett-Packard is on the list of fallen executives. Another fallen star was Linda Wachner who was at the helm when Warnaco went into bankruptcy. Another one is Jill Barad forced out of Mattel the toymaker after the company's stock price plummeted 75%. Of course, the highly publicized high executive who disgraced was Martha Stewart who had to serve time. It does not mean these powerful women will go out of the picture completely, they make a comeback at different capacities.
