Air Travel will Double in 2025

That number will reach to nine billion from the four billion where it is now. The forecast made by Airports Council International states that the number of passengers that will pass through the 1,650 airports its 567 members operate currently could grow at an average of four percent yearly. What will raise the figure could be what comes out of Asia that is growing by 9 percent yearly led by India and followed by China. By 2025, it is possible for Asia to challenge North America which last year had 1.5 billion travelers passing through its airports while the Asian airports had 897 million passengers. The Asian freight volume was 26 million, five million less than North America and it is expected to take the lead in the year 2025. However, aircraft movement will grow only an average of 2.8 percent simply because aircraft carrying a higher number of passengers are being built. There is an environmental concern in air travel too since it pollutes the air and contributes to the greenhouse effect.
