Nintendo’s Wii has outsold its competitors Sony’s PlayStation 2 and 3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 in January. The figure was 436,000 for the Wii console that sells for $250 and what might have added to the sales figure could be its controller that is different form the others in such a way that it could be used to imitate various objects such as rackets or swords. Next came PlayStation 2 the earlier version that was reportedly sold 290,000 units and Xbox 360 that was leading in December’s sale sold only 294,000 ahead of the latest release PlayStation 3 that sold 244,000 units. The Xbox 360 sells for around $350 whereas the high-end versions of both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2 and 3 sell between $400 - $600. The total sale for video game hardware and software had reached $1.3 billion in January.
