Wondering Out Loud Why the Mind Wanders

Scientists or psychologists have not found a good reason why the mind wanders in the middle of doing things, but there enough is proof that the mind needs keeping it focused on what is being done, otherwise it will wander into some thought. One example mentioned was it might be healthy if the mind wonders somewhere such as work related problems while munching on a burger. But if that happens while driving the outcome could be disastrous. One area where mind wandering could be experienced is while reading, because it requires a certain amount of effort to concentrate, which gets better if what is being read is captivating. What had been arrived at is not paying attention to the immediate surrounding and what is being done in real time could have deadly consequences such as a university professor who must have had a lot on his mind he forgot his ten year old boy sitting on the backseat of his car in the heat and the kid died. There are many this kind of incident but researches are not yet ready to comment about them by saying they are good or bad, and the reality is the mind is like a car that will have to be kept in a particular lane if it has to accomplish a certain task.
