Is It Possible to Curb Trans Fat from Food?

That is what a report is saying about an effort undergone in N.Y. City where restaurants are expected to cut on the greasy stuff that is compared to a lead in paint and to a bacon grease on a kitchen sink. Americans consume six gram of trans fat on a daily basis, where one fast food could contain up to ten grams, even if the recommended amount by the American Heart Association is two grams. According to the report, N.Y. City Restaurants have six months to switch to other safe cooking oils and 18 months to bring trans fat content to half-gram. It might sound a tall order but it seems doable according to the report. One more requirements the restaurants are required to meet is to inform their customers the amount of calorie in the foods they are serving. This requirement includes food outlets like McDonald and Kentucky Fried Chicken that have web sites that tell customers the calorie content of the food they are serving.
