Spain had Become the First Nation to Ban Thin Models

The reason is they are deemed as unhealthy role models and according to the authorities, eating disorder has its roots in young ladies trying to imitate what they see at the catwalk. There were uproars from as far as New York’s Elite Modeling that stated there are girls that are naturally thin and taking such measure is discriminatory. While Spanish modeling companies support the measure, eating disorder activists stated that many model agencies and designers oppose the ban. However, the authorities said it is not difficult to tell those who are abnormally underweight, because according to them some of them are sickly looking. What the Madrid fashion show is looking for is healthy looking models that will portray healthy living. According to the authorities, not adhering to the ban might necessitate coming up with legislation.
