Certainly, the city with a population of four million had snatched this title three times, which means there must be something special about it. There are 4000 restaurants, the city is modern looking with a mixture of high tech skyscrapers and the traditional Victoria era English architecture, and people live in brick houses with their neat gardens. The other amenities that everyone looks for are there too. The streets are safe, there are a big number of parks, flunked by an excellent symphony orchestra, vibrant theatres, and performing arts centers. On top of that, the air is clean when compared with major industrial centers that must be its competitors. There is also enough ethnic diversity due to the sizeable immigrants where it is possible to go into a given neighborhood and forget that it is located in fact in Melbourne. The same goes with shopping, where those with money could visit "Paris End" and a high-end department store that equals London’s Harrods and Berlin’s KaDeWe called David Jones and Myer.
