News Still Awash with the Spinach Case

The spinach case has reached 109 victims and it does not seem it will subside anytime soon in spite of all the precautions that had been taken. The company that was identified as the source of the tainted spinach with the E. coli bacteria, Natural Selection Foods LLC had stated that it is cooperating with federal and state health inspectors and the inspectors have attested that the origin of the tainted vegetable is not from organic farms. The finding does not exonerate the company though since it deals both with organic and non-organic spinach even if it has recalled all of its brands it sold in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. The outbreak is affecting more than 19 states, the worst hit state being Wisconsin and what consumers are advised to do is to boil the plant as washing it will not rid it of the bacteria.
