The Tough Sexual Offenders Measure

It was so tough, a government official had this to say about it: "It makes you wonder if it's a false promise based upon a false premise,". People can live with some of the measures that will restrict convicts and felons from living 2000 feet near schools or parks, or they have to wear electronic monitoring device for life that will cost the government up to $200 million as it adds up. Nevertheless, what prompted the official to say what was stated above was the banishing of the convicts from urban centers like San Francisco and L.A. and dump them into the rural suburbs. The first opposition stems from the fact that it will banish them from urban settings that have services, jobs, and family connection that will enable the convicts and the offenders to become law-abiding citizens. The other cited problem is those who are living in the rural suburbs do not deserve to be a dumping ground for such loathed members of society. Even the 2000 feet restriction had been overturned in 2003 putting the decision making on the hand of the states that can take measures that they believe have acceptance by individual communities. The issue is so controversial the U.S. Supreme Court had declined to hear it.
